About

Tyga Wijnhard (Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 1999) is a screenwriting student in UCLA Extension’s Feature Film Writing Program, studies Applied Psychology at University of Applied Sciences NTI and makes collage art.

During the screenwriting program, Tyga wrote two original screenplays: psychological drama feature ‘Ammonia’ and experimental short ‘Stargirl.’ She also strengthened her peer feedback and script coverage skills. Her work generally focuses on questions around identity, interpersonal relationships and the processing of experiences and memories. In the past, Tyga organised (jazz) poetry events and literary nights. She also wrote and performed poetry under her birth name Tijgerlelie.

Alongside these writings, Tyga enjoys writing on psychology and diving into niche topics. She’s written blogs on love and relationships informed by scientific findings and personal observations for Suzanne Allegonda, a non-traditional relationship therapist.

To get out of structured thinking, Tyga revels in making collages. For this, she uses materials like lost and found family portraits, vintage medical magazines and spiritual imagery. To her, collage is a way to unearth subconscious reasoning, frictions and desires.
